Welcome to Swinton Academy. We are an 11–16 secondary school committed to providing a high-quality education that enables every student to achieve their full potential and to thrive academically, socially and personally.

We actively promote ambition, encouraging students to aim high and take pride in their learning, while developing resilience so they can persevere when faced with challenge. Students are supported to take responsibility for their conduct, attendance and progress, preparing them effectively for their next steps. 

The curriculum at Swinton Academy is broad, balanced and carefully sequenced to meet the needs of all learners. It is designed to build strong subject knowledge, develop skills over time and provide clear progression routes to Post-16 study, apprenticeships or further education.  

We place great emphasis on respectful behaviour, positive relationships and a calm, purposeful learning environment. Students understand what is expected of them and feel safe, supported and valued. Our inclusive culture is underpinned by acceptance without exception, ensuring that diversity is celebrated and that equality of opportunity is central to academy life. 

Personal development is a strength of the academy. Through our curriculum, enrichment programme and wider opportunities, students develop confidence, character and cultural capital. They learn about equality, fundamental British Values and their role as responsible citizens in modern Britain. Students are encouraged to engage fully in extra-curricular activities, which enrich their experience and support their wider development. 

Strong partnerships with parents, carers and the wider community are central to our work. By working together, we ensure that students are well supported and challenged to succeed. When students leave Swinton Academy, they do so as confident, respectful and well-prepared young people, ready to make a positive contribution to society.
