Swinton Academy Inclusion ObjectivesIt is the objective of the academy to provide an inclusive educational environment for each student with the opportunity to fulfil his/her potential using best endeavours to secure special educational provision. We therefore believe that:

The Arch (Integrated Resource) The Arch is our Integrated Resource provision. This provision hosts 20 Local Authority places for students with a diagnosis of Autism and an EHCP. There are two tiers of provision which are directed by the Local Authority. The main tier provides daily support for students and includes interventions where needed. The enhanced tier provides an increased staff: student ratio which includes a member of teaching staff. Students have planned access to their key worker in this space. The Gateway This Inclusion space provides a base for our ‘Thrive Group’ as well as for students who require access to additional learning interventions (such as reading and numeracy). This space supports students who might require further testing or assessments. Students may have planned access to their key worker in this space. The Key and The Link These spaces support our learners with communication and interaction needs including those who might be on the ND pathway or those who may display neurodiverse traits as well as students with ( Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). These spaces are where students will be timetabled access for interventions and support. Students may have planned access to their key worker in these spaces. |

Identifying and Supporting SEND studentsThe Department for Education has identified four broad areas which cover a range of needs. These are defined in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice – 0-25 years, January 2015.
