The Source

Swinton Academy is delighted to announce that it will be working in partnership with the source skills academy to promote and run enterprise opportunities for all our students.  The Source Skills Academy at Meadowhall is a flagship centre providing state of the art training, development and conferencing facilities for all sectors of the local community and local businesses in South Yorkshire, including Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham.

The Source is a training and development centre set up by British Land in partnership with Sheffield City council in 2003. Established as a charity, the facilities include a gym, café and a mock shop for students.
The Source offers training for both individuals and businesses, including first aid, health & safety and customer services, as well as offering Traineeship and Apprenticeship programmes for those looking to start their career. The organisation also delivers a number of community initiatives to help young people and the long term unemployed into work such as Bright Lights and Prince’s Trust “get into” programmes.
Working with schools, The Source provides advice and guidance for those looking to enter the world of work and offers a range of accredited vocational and employability training programmes for learners in years 9, 10, 11 and 12.
